Perfectly Healthy

Perfectly Healthy

I’m sitting at my computer staring at a blank page that I know I should be able to fill with words. At the same time, I’m eating a pint of Red Button Double Dark Chocolate Gelato and thinking, “How can I be writing a blog on health and fitness but eating something totally against what I’m writing?”

Then I though to myself, “But it IS healthy.”

What? How can a pint of Red Button Double Dark Chocolate Gelato be healthy?

Because letting yourself relax and have fun without worrying about the rules once in a while is healthy! (Not to say a good workout isn’t fun. Who doesn’t enjoy a little sweat and tears, huh?)

We can spend all our time stressing about eating right and whether or not we have time to fit in a workout, but unless we take some time to just enjoy life, it’s gonna fly right by and we’re going to miss so many things. So yes, I absolutely want you to live a long and healthy life. I want you to eat right and be active most of the time. Most of the time. I’m not saying it’s okay to go and enjoy unhealthy snacks on a daily basis. That’s not going to get you results. But I also don’t want you to feel like you have to be perfect to be healthy.

It’s not fair to expect people to be perfect. Trying to be perfect all the time is stressful. Stress is negative energy. Negative energy is frustrating. Frustration leads to lashing out. Lashing out leads to people hating you. Therefore if you don’t sit back and have a Red Button Double Dark Chocolate Gelato once in a while, people are going to hate you.

I’m just kidding. People won’t hate you for not eating Gelato. Except maybe the Gelato companies. The point is, as I said before, it’s healthy to ease up a little. Physical health is not the only thing you want to take care of. Being healthy mentally is also extremely important. Do you feel like you get things done and work better when you’re happy or when you’re upset or feeling down? I know I work better happy.

I’m going to keep this post on the shorter side, because I really don’t think there’s much more I need say. I’m also almost out of Gelato. So go take a breather. Have a cupcake or a bag of chips. Spend a day reading on the couch or watching movies with people you love. Give yourself permission to have fun.
